Theodolite, Stanley London

Brass theodolite head marked Stanley London complete with spirit levels, compass, vernier adjustment with magnifier setting. Appears to work in all aspects but not calibrated and probably reproduction, however, a superb display item, looks wonderful in the study, on the desk or in a display case. Comes in polished wood case with brass corner plates. A super and unusual decorative gift.

Brass Surveyor's Scope  Inscribed A. G. Thornton, Manchester

 

In original wooden case (cracks along top, but robust) and with what looks like original leather shoulder strap. Both spirit levels working.

 

Inside case lid is the "last" servicing ticket, by Cooke, Troughton & Simms dated 1933. Key to case is lost

H. Tinsley & Co London S.E.  Phase Splitting Resistance Box, 100 volts, N0. 1791

The Tinsley Phase Splitting Resistance consists of a variable number of non-inductively wound resistance coils. It is used in series with a variable capacitance to produce the quadrature phase of a 2-phase Drysdale phase-shifter when the available supply is single phase. The Drysdale phase-shifter is an essential component of the Drysdale-Tinsley AC potentiometer used for the accurate measurement of alternating currents and voltages.

Range 100 ohms - 1000 ohms in steps of 100 ohms
0,1 ohms - 111 ohms in steps of 0,1 ohm

 Wooden box, intact but dulled and scratched with use (would polish up well), bakelite panel, brass plugs for resistance selection and brass terminals, with 21 plugs (2 missing) 

Internal repairs needed to wire mounting studs, where several have corroded and broken leaving them swinging loose on the wires (new stud mounts needed), and some corrosion to external metal parts. Good for museum or collector's display

PAG Elektro-Pneumostat PL No. 188 Type EM

 

Whatever it is, it has moving parts and comes in a box! 

There is a rheostat at one end, a motor at the other and perhaps a pump of some description. Since I don't know what it's used for I don't know if it works or if there is anything missing. But it looks unusual and any collection of electrical equipment really should have one of these to call itself complete.
