A complete set of 12 slides, each 3¼ x 3¼, with original reading. From the engravings "P & O Pencillings". Some Edge Bindings loose and some have been replaced with black tape. This is a collection of magic lantern slides (3.25"x3.25") numbered 1-8. I do not know whether this is a full set or not since I cannot identify the story - it seems to involve a death bed scene, a kidnapping and a rescue. No 8 has crack across bottom corner and No 2 half inch crack at bottom but both project OK, there is some crazing of image on one slide and marginal loss of colour occasionally, but on the whole a good collectable set Click on picture for more photos Opt/MLS/299 £29.95 |

Often travelling preachers used this type of slide to illustrate sermons and talks. There is some loss of colour on some slides, and two of them are double thickness perhaps indicating that the rest are missing one glass.
